Agent Sales Opportunities for Oklahoma
AGENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Agent's position generally reports directly to a Manager and is responsible
for generating new sales volume for the company within the state or states where
he/she is appointed. An agent is responsible for scheduling his/her own work
hours and is responsible for all of his/her own expenses. Compensation is
through first year commission and renewals. Advances may be available to
qualifying agents. An Agent's primary objective should be to market the
CropUSA product portfolio to farmers and ranchers, and to simultaneously obtain
association and cooperative membership enrollment.
COMPANY SPECIFICS
CropUSA is a property and casualty insurance agency that was formed to penetrate
the federal crop insurance market by leveraging 45+ state and national association
relationships through its sister company, AIA Insurance, Inc. Both companies
are headquartered in Lewiston, Idaho, and have over 30 years of agency experience
working with farmers in over 30 states.
AGENTS SHOULD STRIVE TO
- Solicit association and co-op memberships
- Schedule appointments by telephone or in person
- Present products and benefits
- Use approved, current sales literature and sales tools which are provided by CropUSA
- Close sales and submit business appropriate companies
- Solicit association memberships
- Obtain referrals
- Travel within assigned geographical area and be available for overnight stays if necessary
- Submit required reports to Manager in a timely manner
- Attend meetings as required by Manager
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven sales experience in the crop insurance industry or a related field
- Familiarity with crop insurance and associated compliance and regulatory issues
- Superior grasp of advanced marketing techniques and concepts
- Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills
- Strong administrative skill and computer literacy
- Optimistic and career oriented with a natural ability to converse in a variety of complex situations
- Team player capable of adapting to change, showing flexibility and desire for advancement
- A self-starter who requires minimal supervision
- Appropriate state insurance licenses or ability to obtain necessary licensure
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- An acceptable driving record and automobile insurance with a "business use" endorsement and personal liability insurance
